I remember a defender called Messy used to play in St. Ann leagues, I just can't remember if he played for Brazil, or Volvo. Anyone remember Messy and his playing style?

My instincts lead me to say it is Milo or Lincoln(Linky) Williams, but of course there's

I was chatting to my brother who remembers a lot about St. Ann football, from the 70's and 80's. I'm the first to admit that I can't remember all the good goalkeepers, but a special one comes to mind when I think of the best of the best and he is Cattnot  that played for Volvo F.C. in the 80's.  There are a few more highly rated on my list too, however I'd love to hear who everyone thinks is the best goalkeeper to ever grab a ball between the sticks in St. Ann.

I remember that Byron Earle played about two matches for Black Stars before an Arnett Gardens entourage came to Ochi and got him, but i'm not 100% on the amount of time he spent with the team. 
Anyone know the full history of how he got recruited for Stars and how long he actually spent playing in St. Ann football?

I think this youth have a nice playing game,and if him stay healthy, and stay out of trouble then he has a real good shot at being a super star!

Leon Bailey (born 9 August 1997) is a Jamaican footballer who currently plays for Belgian club K.R.C. Genk. He plays as a winger.

Bailey was in the news in 2013 when while at KRC Genk he was illegally staying in Belgium having been taken there by a sports agent who had him sign a contract at KRC Genk. After a raid by the Labour Ministry, Bailey and his entourage suddenly disappeared.

Bailey joined K.R.C. Genk in 2015 from Trencin. He made his Belgian Pro League debut on 21 August 2015 in a 3–1 away defeat against Sint-Truiden replacing Siebe Schrijvers after 62 minutes.[3] He scored his first professional goal for KRC Genk on 21 November versus OH Leuven. At then end of the 2015–2016 season he won the Belgian Young Footballer of the Year award.

Bailey played in a friendly match for Jamaica under-23's on 8 March 2015 versus the Cayman Islands under-23 side, where he scored directly from a freekick.

When I was playing D'cup I used to wonder why the national stadium was called the "national stadium" and not something like Bob Marley Sports and Entertainment complex as an example. Maybe not bob, but more tuned to someone who drove sports home for Jamaicans.
Now decades later i'm still trying to ponder why it's called "Independence Park" and not something more forthright. I mean, seriously, why not something more meaningful?

I feel it would be a good idea if JFF decide they are building a program for the next olympic, that way they can start set a premise where even under 16 kids can be chosen and watched as they advance in skills.

If a group of kids come together and get that connection it is certain they will have a different kind of power and energy when it comes to competitive advancement.
JFF should have 19 year old kids competing in the Olympics qualifier because that will give them the necessary international experience needed. This experience is important because they will have brushed off a lot of the fright, unfamiliarity, as well as being caught up in the moment which comes with the territory of playing on international levels.

More exposure, is more relaxation and that leads to just focusing on playing football, instead of wanting a selfie with your favorite international player.

The other day I was visiting someone in Portland, and had to wait until they got home. I got bored and walked around the community where I saw a football game being played. No me love friend up people so I did and got a game, but to tell you the truth the field was in very bad condition. A how the field them a Jamaica so difficult to play on?

I mean i've heard people brag how good their hometown field is, but it look like a just bragging and no work to keep up the grass and flatness. The FA should do a lot more to help with this instead of siphoning the money to some president in Switzerland.

Why is it that St. Thomas football presence so weak?

I drive through the other day and see a corner league a play, so I know say football a play there. But in terms of getting some profile across the island, St. Thomas seem to be happy being left behind.
