I am in the process of creating a St. Ann Legends of Football page on a soon to be launched sports site for St. Ann only. What I'm looking to do is have a full profile pic of that player, and various other statistical information, including past teams, achievements, and a bio about them.

What i'm looking for now are input in terms of who to list on that legends page. I will probably have a series of polls in order to fine tune the selections, however there are some basic rules that is in place in order to be considered a legend.

In terms of an example, and if you are a true St. Ann man, it's easy to see how someone like Richie Poo Tulloch would be a good choice to be a part of that list.

It's not difficult to conjure up the newer players from the mid 80's upwards, but i'm really focusing on making sure I get the players from the 1970's too. Think Ambassadors All Star, Reynolds team, Top Stars etc. So basically, i'm going to have to consult my idols, about their idols and come on down from there. Bascoe, Dove, Georgie and dem man deh.

Yes, I have started compiling the list, but it is of the USUAL SUSPECTS - people who we already KNOW will make the legends list. No Toto you nuh deh pon it.... yet!

If you can think of legendary players who would deserve to be on this list, do share your thoughts and let us know their name, and why. It would be good to know about their teams too and any significant moment you can remember about them. Their specialty and position would be great too.
An example would be
- Name, Nickname
- Time period played
- teams you remember them playing for
- Primary position played
- Why you feel they should be considered

Obviously, you want folks who have played in the parish league, or represented the parish a minimum of 3 years, so while people like Byron Earle is my hero, and hero to many folks out of the Arnett Gardens team, he only spent a short time with Black Stars, so therefore is not viable for nomination.

This is a much bigger project than the above, because there's lots more data that will be involved.

You might also wonder why I want to do this, and why i've been pushing for a database of players surfacing from my Parish, it's because, like my uncle Nigel, aka Shingo mesh, it's purely for the love of a game that enriched my life.

Forward the link to who you feel haven't see it yet, because this is just the warm up, side nuh pick, and game nuh start play yet!

I'll post some screenshots of the design as it progress.

Let's start there.

We want to know who you think would be the most decorated player out of St. Ann.

This should be thought about similar to counting the amount of cautions a team has accumulated throughout the season, meaning the most prestigious titles puts that player to the top first, so winning the national league would automatically place you towards the top and if you won more than one should be considered, etc.

Share your thoughts on who you think has deserved to sit at the pinnacle, we can provide a list of potential candidates if need be.

Here are some things to consider:
- National titles
- National caps
- The most caps on a given team
- The total number of teams played for on a national level
- Success outside of St. Ann as well as in the parish.

Happy thinking.

There are so many I respect, but the decision is easy.

I'm sure most people will know who my Legend is and will always be, because i watched his football etiquette and learned mental strength; technical ability; and how to slap players without the ref seeing (and yes I've gotten many slaps) from him. Not to mention his achievements are in the top 3 of football achievers in St. Ann, you would not believe how many medals this man has collected.

Whether it was during his Vere(champions), JDF(champions), Los Perfectos, Chelsea Utd, Windsor Utd, Black Stars, JPS business house, Watford (Yes youth trainee with John Barnes), jamaica, and host of other accolades!

He's been around the block of football, and at the moment I think maybe only Everton "Addi ants" Palmer can rival him with medals and experience.

He was strict about his football, and strict about the diligence of training, if you played serious game then you can be on his team.

I remember an overseas team of pure white guys asked for a practice match with Windsor, and I was brought along as a 15 year old to learn, but he had more plans for me and thrusted me as a forward in that friendly. I was on cloud 9.

So while I respect players like Fisher from ghetto, Ruler, the Luggs, and the greatest general ever on any Volvo team, my general is the most powerful and precise kicker of the ball in St. Ann History.

Second on my Legend List would be Fabel Mckoy, I would've gone anywhere in the world and play with him on my team.

Skill (Bychang) most consistent midfielder, i remember you and your game. I remember when I used to sit and watch you juggle without the ball touching the ground~
Windsor United footballer.

Manna(Squarey) no I haven't forgotten about you, if someone wants that ball, you can go down the flank and put it pon him eyelash!

Shaggy(Chelsea) I remember you, shared some good laughs with you last year and teased you about your knee. Sorry you had to quit playing so early!

Norris (Volvo, Black Stars, Brazil), good forward, I remember you! you helped me to love the game!

Nocklyn (Chelsea), much respect to this day!

It is not often you get to play with your football idols, or the fact that they supported you all the way, but I was fortunate to have met mine and appreciate them encouraging me all the way. There are many folks I respect in the game before and during my time, but extra special mentions for me has to go out to my Idols:
Echo Barnaby
Willie Bobo
Copy Murphy
Beck
Lenkyroy Lugg
Major (Kimble)
Lazza
=====

Without these folks I wouldn't have love football so much, or wanted to emulate them in games. You dragged me to training with you, and dragged me onto the field every chance you could spare. This is why I would not hesitate to put your memory on a forum that should last for all times. Thanks guys.

My instincts lead me to say it is Milo or Lincoln(Linky) Williams, but of course there's

Delroy Hinds (Milo - Brazil),
Byron Murphy(Copy - Windsor),
MackaB(black Stars),
Peter Johnson(Moblack - Brazil),
Jungle (Chelsea)
Fire Lugg(Windsor, Volvo),
Gimrich(Ambassador All stars?),
Poppy McKoy (Brazil),

I wonder if the St. FA still have those records or statistics I could run through and do an accurate count?

I'm happy to do so if the records exists.

Apparently there's a quote from Johnny pram saying it is Milo - he once scored 48 goals in one season, i don't know how true that is.

The Best St. Ann FA Goalkeeper ever?

I was chatting to my brother who remembers a lot about St. Ann football, from the 70's and 80's. I'm the first to admit that I can't remember all the good goalkeepers, but a special one comes to mind when I think of the best of the best and he is Cattnot that played for Volvo F.C. in the 80's. There are a few more highly rated on my list too, however I'd love to hear who everyone thinks is the best goalkeeper to ever grab a ball between the sticks in St. Ann.

Here's a list I can remember:

Dragon,
Beast(Brazil)
Earl Bogles Whyte(Benfica)
Todus Linton (Raiders 1981, Chelsea)
Kimble/Major Paris (WIndsor Utd)
Roundup(Volvo)
Bones (Windsor)
Monster (Windsor Utd, Brazil Utd)
Gary Banana Man Robinson(Benfica)
Paul Tulloch(Steer Town),
Errol Hagler Hyatt(windsor, benfica),
Dirks Sewell (windsor),
Quaco (Windsor)
Norbert (Topstars, Bucks, Benfica)
World (Bucks),

I'll add more to this list as I remember them, or if you post any, for now i'd love to hear your respective opinions. It would also be good if you know their real names - it's time to give the true respect due.
Once a discussion begins i'll see if I can setup a poll of the most chosen ones to see who would come out on top.

I remember that Byron Earle played about two matches for Black Stars before an Arnett Gardens entourage came to Ochi and got him, but i'm not 100% on the amount of time he spent with the team.
Anyone know the full history of how he got recruited for Stars and how long he actually spent playing in St. Ann football?

It's sad I cannot even find a pic of him online anywhere.

Tivoli Strikers, Unity Strikers, Youths Strikers, Lime Hall Masters, High in Town Strikers, Corner Shop F.C. Williamsfield Strikers, and C/J Strikers.
